Who we are

DebateIQ is an AI-powered research and preparation tool built for high school Public Forum debaters. We are operated as an independent service at www.debateiq.org.

What we collect

When you sign in with Google, we receive your name, email address, and profile photo from your Google account. We store this in your user profile so we can identify you across sessions.

We also store content you create in the app — including topics, contentions, evidence cards, and workspace data — in Google Firestore, associated with your account.

We do not collect payment information. We do not run advertising. We do not sell your data.

How we use your data

Your data is used solely to provide the DebateIQ service — to show you your content, sync it across your devices, and personalize your experience. When you use AI features, the content you submit is sent to Google Gemini to generate a response. We do not store AI conversations beyond what appears in the app.

Third-party services

We use the following third-party services to operate DebateIQ:

• Google Firebase — authentication and database storage
• Google Gemini — AI features (research, analysis, suggestions)
• Google Cloud Run — backend API hosting
• Cloudflare Pages — frontend hosting and delivery

Each of these services has its own privacy policy. By using DebateIQ you also agree to Google's and Cloudflare's terms as applicable.

Age requirement

DebateIQ requires a Google account to sign in. In line with Google's terms, you must be at least 13 years old to use this service. If you are under 13, please do not use DebateIQ without verified parental consent.

Data retention and deletion

Your data is retained as long as your account is active. If you would like your account and all associated data deleted, email us at the address below and we will process your request within 30 days.

Cookies and analytics

We do not use tracking cookies or third-party analytics. Firebase may set session cookies necessary for authentication to function.

Changes to this policy

We may update this policy as the service evolves. Material changes will be noted by updating the date at the top of this page.
